Been reported on MLB Trade Rumors that the Tigers have interest in Brett Lawrie.

Oakland trades:

Tigers trade:
3B Nick Castellanos
SP Matt Boyd

Marlins trade:
OF Marcell Ozuna
LHP Brad Hand

Tigers improve on defence at both third and in left, while adding another quality bat. Castellanos and Ozuna both have 4 years remaining, and it fills a need for both teams.

Tigers receive Matt Moore and Enny Romero
Tampa Bay receives Jose Iglesias

Tigers acquire a potential middle of the rotation starter under control for up to 4 more years. He begins to get a little too expensive for the Rays as he makes 5M in 16', 7,9,10 from 17'-19' (last 2 are option years with a buyout) . Tigers also receive a young left handed reliever who throws upper 90's and could potentially slot into their bullpen. Tigers have Dixon Machado, a glove first shortstop, ready to fill the void.

Rays trade from their influx of starting pitching and acquire a young all star shortstop. Also saves them money and gives the team further flexibility. He is under control for three more years as he is set for arbitration for the first time in 2016.

If the Tigers continue to be inconsistent, and Dombrowski has any sense, they will sell at the deadline to save any hopes of competing in the near future. Heaney is the only value piece the Angels have right now. no way are they moving him for a rental. Getting him for Kendrick was a surprising return as it was.

And no way on earth is Soria that valuable.

1.) Not enough going back Detroit's way.

2.) Austin Dean is in low ball and not a top prospect. Andrew Heaney struggled with a high era bad walks to strike out ratio. Christian Yelich is one piece, but they would have to sweeten the pot and I don't think they have the pieces Detroit would be looking for beyond Yelich. If they could get Boston involved then Betts comes into play or Bogarts. Bullpen and a third basemen or catcher.

3.) Was this meant to be a joke? Not even close to enough going Detroit's way. Price will take 2/3 young guys. You can play around with the exact give and take but I would focus on Price for Ozuna/Yelich and Alvarez. This would make more sense than the the original proposal.
