PIRATES OFFSEASON

Let Neil Walker walk away and get the money he deserves. He is a free agent if they don't offer arbitration and the cheapskate pirates don't want to pay him as much as he deserves so they will let him walk so they can move Jung Ho Kang to 3B and Josh Harrison to 2B.

Resign JA Happ. He was one of if not the best pitcher at the final stretch.

Call up Tallion. There were rumours of it happening last year so i think it will happen this year.

Sign or trade for a fourth OF. Every year the injury bug hurts Them wether it being Cutch, Marte, or Polanco, so sign a 4th OF to platoon with polanco or play when an injury occurs.

Sign Chris Davis. It may take a lot of money but it could help. It would bring a HR hitter who would slide into the 4th spot and eould help Cutch see pitches instead of getting plunked all the time also they may lose Alvarez the same way as walker and i see him being a DH anyways.

Resign Soria and Blanton. Both helped and bring experience.

Tell me your thoughts i know the Davis one is a little out of the Pirates normal scheme of things but it is a possibility in my mind.

No. Taillon isn't going to be ready after 2 major setbacks. Davis isn't coming to Pittsburgh. Soria will get closer money somewhere else.

I should have clarified not at the start of the season but mid way he should be good by then.

I still think there is a possibility that Davis could come here it be a great fit if not maybe Freddie Freeman.

If we don't resign Soria then we need to sign another reliever.

I don't think you can really let someone walk before they are free agents. They pretty much have to offer arbitration if they can't agree to a term before hand. And don't you think they would want something in return for Walker as opposed to just letting him go?

4.) 18 Nov 2015 22:20:15
there's a difference between being cheapskates and simply not having a lot of money to spend due to their market. Also pirates have a lot of middle infield prospects so why would they want walker blocking them? Also Davis would probably command double what walker would get.

Trust me the Pirates have money to spend. They may not have a Dogers payroll but ever since they made the playoffs in 2013 they have got more and more money.

Dude, your first proposal stinks. Quit defending it.

I could see that or even Seattle.

2.) 04 Dec 2015 05:09:08
Seattle does not want 200+ strikeouts.

Got to be an AL team. I say Cleveland.

What happened to Ricky Nolasco.

Just wanted to ask you guys about the Neil Walker rumours. I read that the Pirates are looking for young pitching. I understand they don't have much of their rotation complete yet but they have a plethora of young pitchers who can pitch. So why would they go for more young pitchers instead of going for what they really need Ex. First base, releif, bench, etc. Just wondering thanks for replies.

There are young pitchers that aren't starters.

2.) 20 Nov 2015 21:49:35
Pitching prospects, with the exception of a few, are essentially lottery tickets.

Some turn into aces, others average starters, some are bullpen pieces, others fizzle out and spend their career in a series of Rule 5 acquisitions or don't even make it to the majors.

It's better to load up on pitchers and have your pick of the litter when they develop.
