Cubs

Cubs get Pirela from the Padres for a low level prospect.

This gives the Cubs a backup infielder if this La Stella situation doesn't sort itself out.

What do you guys think?

What is your infatuation with the Cubs and backup infielders?

I don't have one it just so happens that they need one at the moment.

Sull, you do appear to have some sort of infatuation with the Cubs at the moment and a man crush on Daniel Nava.

Give him a break. This site is for trades whether it be Chris Sale or Jose Pirela. The Cubs stated yesterday that they needed one after Tommy LaStella threw a temper tantrum so this is reasonable. Except Jose Pirela is doing horrible and the Cubs could find a better option considering they'd be giving up pennies.

Not really and this is all because I personally feel that the Cubs have one of the best oportunitys to win it all this year so I am just suggesting moves that I feel would make them better and put them in an even better spot to win it all. That's all.

Actually, RedSoxFan, LaStella didn't throw a "Temper Tantrum", he simply stated that if he couldn't play on the if league cubs, he'd rather not play at all. And the entire Cubs organization accepted his decision and completely understood it.

Surely there are other options.

Ok HKing204 how is that not a temper tantrum? He didn't get what he wanted to so he basically quit. Sounds like a little kid not getting his way and throwing a temper tantrum until he does.

How about the Braves trade them Gordon Beckham.

Not a bad option either. I was just thinking about younger options. They could also try to go after Alcantara who they traded earlier this season for Colgan he is a switch hitter I think and can play almost anywhere either way the Cubs should be primed to win it all this year and in years to come.
