Yankees trade Brett Gardner, Jacob Lindgren, and a lower level prospect for Trevor Bauer.

I would do that as a Yankee fan. Singleton could DH once Beltran and A-Rod are gone, still leaving 1st open for Bird.

Mamba, here's another way to think of it: If the player is ineligible to be traded at the time that said trade is completed, that player, no matter how long the teams wait, would ALWAYS be ineligible to be a part of that trade.
