Long time, no see. Time to cook something up for the mediocre Twins.
I honestly believe that the Twins could be in for a somewhat bjg off-season (for the first time ever, honestly) . With new names supposedly coming to the brass, I can't see why they can't build a contender this off-season.
SIGN: C Wilson Ramos, 4 year/ 40 million
Ramos could definitely help the Twins' catching needs, and could help a young Twins rotation as well. After working with pitchers like Scherzer, Strasburg, and Gonzalez over the years, Ramos would be a huge help to up and coming pitchers like Jose Berrios, Tyler Duffey, and Stephen Gonsalves.
TRADE: Trevor Plouffe
Honestly don't know who would express interest in Plouffe, and I am being 100 percent serious.
TRADE FOR AN ACE: I realize the Twins are in love with their youth, but they gptta realize that if you want to be a huge threat in the league, you need an ace. Santana has had a good year, Berrios is tipping his pitches, Santiago has had a good string of starts, and god knows what Duffey's problem is.
Adding a pitcher like Sonny Gray or Chris Archer would benefit the Twins for sure. The likeliness of a deal for one of the two pitchers listed is low, but it's a fun idea to toy around with.
1.) 18 Sep 2016 00:52:40
I think Ramos gets more, honestly. He'll certainly land a QO. I'll predict about 5/ 75. But I think Minnesota could really, really use a high quality catcher.
As for Plouffe, several teams with pending 3B issues come to mind: Angels, Marlins, Dodgers, maybe even the Giants, depending on how they view the use of Nuñez.
2.) 18 Sep 2016 05:24:42
Ramos will likely get double that amount.
23 Jun 2016 19:08:07
Mets get: 3B Danny Valencia
Athletics get: LHP Max Wotell, SS Andres Gimenez
Just in case they don't bring in Reyes.
1.) 23 Jun 2016 23:04:26
A's might be able to get a little more because Valencia is having a pretty good year.
2.) 24 Jun 2016 04:25:00
Mets got to pay more for Valencia.
10 Jun 2016 18:56:15
Orioles get: LHP Fernando Abad
Twins get: LHP Garrett Cleavinger
Orioles get a lefty that they can rely on (not named Britton) .
26 Apr 2016 15:51:46
Rays get: C Jonathan Lucroy
Brewers get: 1B Jake Bauers, RHP Taylor Guerreri, 3B Richie Schaffer
Brewers get a 1B and a 3B for their future plans, as well as a young starting pitcher. Rays get a catcher that can actually hit the ball.
1.) 26 Apr 2016 20:35:17
I'd have to think the Brewers would be demanding someone like Blake Snell.
Lucroy is one of the top 3-5 catchers in the game, he's going to bring back an insane ransom from whoever trades for him.
2.) 27 Apr 2016 01:00:02
Replace Guerrie with Snell and a throw in piece on each side. Then a deal will get done.
3.) 27 Apr 2016 02:00:46
I was thinking Snell too. I haven't done trades in a while, so this was kinda a warm up for me haha.

Braves acquire: LHP Brad Hand
Marlins acquire: RHP Wes Parson, OF Ronald Acuna
Braves need a LHP in the wake of the Andrew McKirahan injury.
1.) 20 Mar 2016 04:59:02
I think the Braves have a lot of internal options they could go with.
2.) 21 Mar 2016 14:14:47
That's true. I saw Ian Krol's ST stats and they weren't too pleasing.

Predicting the rest of the MLB offseason (Not good with money)
Dexter Fowler signs with the Angels, 3 yrs/ 32 MM
Tyler Clippad signs with the Twins, 3 yr/ 20 MM
Yovani Gallardo signs with the Blue Jays, 4 yrs/ 45 MM
Ian Desmond signs with the Diamondbacks, 4 yrs/ 40 MM
Justin Morneau signs with the Astros, 1 yr/ 2 MM
Doug Fister signs with the Astros, 1 yr/ 10 MM
Cliff Lee signs with the Marlins, 1 yr/ 500K
Jeff Francoeur signs with the Pirates, 1 yr/ 1 MM
Austin Jackson signs with the Brewers, 2 yrs/ 10 MM
Grady Sizemore signs with the Orioles, 1 yr/ 1 MM
Burke Badenhop signs with the Astros, 1 yr/ 3 MM
Jonny Gomes signs with the Twins, 1 yr/ 4 MM
Tommy Hunter signs with the Orioles, 1 yr/ 1.5 MM
Ryan Raburn signs with the Athletics, 1 yr/ 750K
Howie Kendrick signs with the Diamondbacks, 3 yrs/ 30 MM
I'm trying to get better at money situations, so help me out here. Overall, I think the predictions are fairly decent. However, I don't think the Diamondbacks will end up signing both Kendrick and Desmond, and some other predictions may be iffy. I also left out some notable names because I cannot find a reasonable home for them. (Alvarez, Byrd, Freese, etc) .
1.) 24 Jan 2016 18:05:29
I think if Cliff Lee signs with anyone, it's going to be a contender.
2.) 24 Jan 2016 20:57:43
Some of the contracts seem a bit light, especially for Raburn, Morneau, Desmond.
Also, I think Byrd and Rios could be far more obvious fits than Jonny Gomes, as would Juan Uribe and David Freese (3B needs are down to 2-3 teams) .

-SEE LAST POST OF MINE-

16 Jan 2016 03:19:16
I have been thinking about this a lot the past few days-what players that were signed to non-roster deals have a legit shot to make the MLB roster? I'll make two separate posts (1 AL, 1 NL) discussing on who has a good shot of making the Opening Day roster. Let's start with the AL. (I WON'T BE SAYING WHY DUE TO SAVE TIME AND SPACE, SOME OF THESE ARE SELF EXPLANATORY ANYWAY)
CLE: Shane Robinson, Joe Thatcher, Joba Chamberlain.
BAL: Jeff Beliveau
BOS: N/ A
CWS: Steven Lombardozzi
DET: N/ A
HOU: Eury Perez
KC: Dillon Gee
LAA: Quintin Berry
MIN: Fernando Abad, Ryan Sweeney

OAK: N/ A
SEA: Ryan Cook, Ed Lucas
TB: N/ A
TEX: Michael McKenry, Cesar Ramos
TOR: Scott Diamond.
I'm going to receive some fire on this, but I'm ready for it.
21 Nov 2015 21:52:52
Reds get: A. J Griffin
Athletics get: Tyler Mahle
I have no clue if A. J Griffin is fully healthy yet, but this is just a fun proposal I thought of the other day.

1.) 08 Sep 2015 01:13:01
I don't know why this got relegated to the talk page. but I like it.
I do think the Nationals will re-sign Span. They are a much better team with him in the lineup.
11 Nov 2016 03:08:31
-can spell Jeimer Candelario
-cannot spell Baez, Strop right
I just had to point it out.
07 Nov 2016 15:52:31
It's decent, but nobody would take a contract like Cabrera's. Nationals don't need him, either.
22 Sep 2016 12:57:08
Stop.
22 Sep 2016 12:56:31
Why would they release a good power threat in their lineup? Sull, you need to actually think a little bit.
21 Sep 2016 02:55:22
On the 60 day DL, silly.
07 Nov 2016 15:51:44
I do believe they still like Chris Owings at 2B.
29 Feb 2016 04:53:21
Trumbo isn't good on defense in the OF, either.
20 Dec 2015 22:31:46
Karns is a starter.
